Default Before buying a new bike...

When buying a bike, what sort of things should you look for to see if it's in good shape? As well, if water gets in the gas tank should you do anything? Thanks.

If you are talking used from a private seller, I would look at the chain for proper lube and tension, the lower shock mount for rust, the tires for wear and proper inflation, and the coolant level. If all of those are in good working order, chances are he took care of the bike and didn't just put gas in it and beat on it. Another thing to look for is under the tail for chunks of rubber to see if he may be a burnout king, that would indicate a hard life on the bikes part as well.
