RE: beating a dead horse GAS question
so today i filled up the coolant resivor, went for a ride and its at the same level so i know its not coolant leaking in somewhere..
but when i started it up today. i watched the exhaust and could see clear liquid droplets comming out with the white smoke... could water in the gass make it smoke white? or if the gas inst getting burnt would it shoot out the tip?
im hoping its just the gas... if i tell my mom that i need to have the internals serviced she will be pissed! since i took out a loan to get it and now i have to fix something..

RE: beating a dead horse GAS question
Hate to say it, but it sounds like coolant may be leaking into your cylinders. If it's worse after it's been sitting that's when the coolant's leaking most noticeably...it probably still does while you're riding, but it burns off real quick if it's not a whole lot of it. Bad news is that it does sound like a head gasket, or something like that. Good news is it isn't as expensive to repair as a car (in general).

RE: beating a dead horse GAS question
hopefully i'm not the first to notice this ...there's mention of jets, needle valves, floats ..aren't we talking about an F4I? the I standing for fuel injection? also, don't confuse very light gray smoke with steam - slight overfueling will be light gray. by the way, what does it smell like? if it just smells really strongly of gas, it's probably just running rich. did you reprogram the computer when you added the slip-on? my buddy's r6 sputtered really badly, and he thought he had major engine problems. reflashed the computer with the map for that slip-on, and it runs perfectly now. might be something as simple as that.
