I have a 01 f4i and the undertail I have doesn't have a batery tray so I made one this winter out of aluminum. I havn't rode my bike this year so I havn't used it yet. I guess a good question would be before I ride how bad of an idea is this

 

Not a bad idea. Many of the track guys I know do the exact same thing w/ their modded bikes.
