Default back fire @ 6k

I always let the bike warm up to past 100 f... but until it is completely warm, 160+ it will back fire if I let off the gas at or above 6k rpms. Theres a slight hesitation usually, feels like the bike has to catch up with itself. Off hand anyone have any ideas? I have another set of plugs here and i need to get an air filter, but its getting closer and closer to winter, I'm trying to wait.

Thanks,

Rob
