Am i paranoid about headshake on CBR F4?
Hey guys, i live here in Arizona and when you get out of the city we got some long *** straight roads. These things are beautifull, some straights are like 30 miles long.
Kinda like this
So anyway sometimes a fast song comes in on the mp3 player and my bike takes off. The roads are smooth, no potholes, a thing of beauty... but i get really nervous when the needle goes past 100. I get this feeling that any moment the head will shake and off i go. Am I being paranoid?
Fastest i've take in (for a few seconds) is 130, and even at that speed, tucked in its pretty smooth, no wabble. Can headshake develop all of a sudden and goodbye ciupe? Or am i more concerned about a blow-out?
You guys get that feeling? Is it me. [sm=usa.gif]

Before high speed encounters check all your stuff: tire pressure and condition, chain slack, oil level, etc. That way all you gotta worry about is cops. There is no reason your bike should wobble at speed. HOWEVER, if such a thing should happen:
DON'T HIT THE DAMN BRAKES!!!!
Let off the throttle slightly and hold the grips loosely (read: just say no to the deathgrip that you desire).
Once the wobbles subside ride at a slower pace until you get to a place where you can find out why you got the wobble.

Those roads would suck!!!! I feel sorry for you, unless you aspire to be a drag racer. You need some hills and some turns.
Anyway, get yourself a damper if you're worried. It's a great mod, especially if you plan to get into wheelies, etc, which would be perfect for those long, straight, boring roads you got in AZ.[:-]
