I have an 1988 cbr1000f. does anyone know if later model handlebar switches can be used, like 93 cbr1000f and up? I understand its possible plug and wire pin outs maybe different. any ideas or suggestions?

The part numbers are different, but they do look very similar.

Is there a reason you don't want to use the switches from the earlier years?

I just double checked for bikes up to '91 and the plugs look identical.

I wanted to update the controls a bit, finding original ones in decent condition are hard to find, worn paint on the controls as well as fading of the plastic, especially on left side controls. I believe they will work, I will do some more research, just wanted to see if anyone has done it. Thanks Hawkwind!
