Default aftermarket headlight bulbs?

I want to get some brighter headlights for my '98 900 RR. It has H4 45/45w stock. I can't find a brighter bulb in that wattage. I want to know if I will have any problems running a higher wattage bulb. I don't want to burn out the voltage regulator or anything else like that. So if anyone is up on their electrical any help would be appreciated. And if anyone knows how much of a higher wattage I could go to. Thanks

Maybe your wiring harness won't handle it. Did you try Silverstars or some of the other bright bulbs?
The best lights I have ever seen are the HIDs on my S2000.

you need to upgrade your wiring and harness. then there will be minimal voltage drop at the bulbs and they will shine much brighter than stock.

check out http://www.danielsternlighting.com/for lots of great information.
