Default Aftermarket Can

Ive the stock can on my 91 F2 and the bike couldnt run better. Now Ive found a Viper slip on and Id like to buy it to add some noise. I've checked out the vid's on ebay and its noisy without being obnoxious. Enough to get me heard while im filtering.

Now, would I have to rejet the bike once the new can was installed? Ive no experience with jetting although ive read up on it here on the forums quite a bit.

If you're only putting on a slip-on you should be able to get away without re-jetting. Now if you were adding a slip-on and a k&n filter, you'd probably want to re-jet.

I wood rejet, you will loose a bit cause of tune issues if you dont. there is a specific amount of back-pressure in the stock can, do it all the way ...K-N air/dyno stage one jet-kit /your slip on, sync carbs and ride.Be prepared to do a good bit-o-work, and it is a 7 out of ten on the difficult meter. BUT if that vintage breed runs great dont mess with it. if all is not done correctly ,poor performance will result. if a little de-tune dont bother you then throw that can on and try it out, if it seems less-gogo, put yer stocker pipe back on. peece

Sound advice guys, cheers.

When I first got the bike, when stripping it down doing basic maintenence. I spotted it had a K&N filter already installed.

Is there anyway of knowing if its got a jetting kit already installed?

I think Ill order the can, install it and see how much performance I lose. I only want the can for winter as Im more than happy with how silent the bike runs with the stocker. If the performance drop is minimal Ill leave it be, if its something shocking Ill rejet the bike. Taking care to note the positions so rejetting to the old settings can be done in 1 or 2 tries.
