Smile 99 CBR 900rr carb troubles!

hey guys! i have a quick question that hopefully someone can help me with! i have a 1999 cbr 900rr that i just picked up on a really good deal. the only problem is that it was sitting for years so i decided to do a full carb cleaning. when i pulled them apart i have noticed the slide needles are at diffrent settings and i know thats not right. it does have a yosh slip on and a k&n filter. all the jets are still stock. any idea what setting the needles should be set at? and any other tips on the bike would be helpful! thanks in advance!!!

its too bad you didnt post this a month or 2 ago when i had mine apart. I have the same exact setup. I cant remember how mine were when i was cleaning them. That is not something they show in the manual either. Maybe someone else can help. What other tips are you looking for?

do you or any one by chance know the setting of the pilot screw on that same bike?
whats your opinion of a homemade carb sync tool?

I just synced/cleaned my carbs and before cleaning them i forgot to count the turns on the pilot screws. The initial setting is 1 5/8 which is what i have them at now and mine are running good. I used a motionpro tool to sync which i liked. They were a little out of whack but not much. They are perfect now. I would just buy a tool if u can. You can use them on throttle bodies for fuel injected bikes also (which i might have pretty soon) if you get f.i. In the future. If youre on a tight budget, there are tons of youtube videos where people have homemade tools. Im sure there are recipes for one on google also. I really dont plan on doing any more mods to mine. I thought about changing the gearing but then i didnt want to get a speedohealer and all that. I just have the kn filter and yosh like u. I did put a integrated taillight and flush mount signals and just ordered shorty levers (been wanting them 4 a while). What color is your bike? I have the "pearl shining yellow". I have to post a pic. Ill do that 2nite.
