929rr won't idle
I just got a 2001 929rr. It has a scorpion slip on, k&n filter, and powercommander. When I got it, it had an injector leaking. I replaced the o-ring and fixed that. Now, when I start it, it will idle for a few seconds, then rev up a little bit, FI light will come on and a red light next to the neutral light comes on, the idle goes up and down, then real low around 500rpm then dies. While I am riding it, it runs fine, has plenty of power. I pull up to a light and it dies unless I give it gas.
I rode it earlier today for the longest I have ridden it, come up to a light and it didn't die. I look down, the FI light and the red light are off. I continue riding and the lights stayed off and it idled fine at every light. Gas light came on so I stop to get gas. I turn the bike off, go in pay for my gas, come out pump my gas, start it and it runs for a few seconds, then same old story. Funky idle followed by the lights coming on and the bike dying. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Harley

Could be a few things. Take the front seat off & short the connector on the right side of the battery. Should be a white 3 pin connector & have a green wire on one side & brown wire on the other with the middle being open. A paper clip is ok. Turn the key on & count the blinks. How many are there? This will tell us what code the FI system is kicking out. Count the blinks & get back with us. I think the red light you are talking about is the oil light.

OK, when I jump the two wires in that connector and turn the key on, the FI light stays solid and the red light I was referring to earlier blinks. I tried my best to right the blinks down and this is what I got:

2 short blinks

8 short blinks

one long blink
9 short blinks

3 longer blinks
4 short blinks
