I have had 900RR and 600F4i and VTX1300C. Im back looking at bikes, and im not wanting to spend over 4000. I have seen 929 and 954 for this price and Im not sure which one I want. I would assume the 954 is better, but please any of you Let me know what you think. What should I spend my money on. I have cash now and ready to buy Im just not sure what one I want. thanks for your time.

 

If it were me, I would look into the 954. Only because its a little more refined than the early 929's. Plus, some 929's had some clutch issues. Most were fixed under a recall, but I would still lean towards the 954. I wouldn't rule out the 929 completely though. If you can get a really good deal on one, then buy it. But from what I've seen, 954 and 929 are generally in the same price bracket, and for that, I would go with the 954. Also, don't count out the 1000RR. 04-05's can be had for between 4-5 grand. Just keep you eye out for a decent one.
