Monthly??? Nothing I know of needs to be done monthly. It's all mileage based unless you barely ride. Then the months are 12+

Welcome aboard! Here's the service manual for the 600rr: http://www.stephygee.com/600RRmanual.zip
There will be a maintenance schedule in there that'll give you the mileage of when XXX should be done. Some things should be done annually or biannually if you don't ride a lot. Couple things I can think of that should be done frequently:
Chain slack & lube - 300 miles
Tire pressure & inspection - Ideally daily but try to get an exact pressure at least once a week and during drastic temp changes.
Visual fluid check (brake, oil, coolant) - daily
Suspension - Ideally daily but definitely check the rebound (bounce the front / rear) at least once a week and check the forks for leaks.

Buy yourself a shop manual off amazon and do all the maintenance yourself...it is a honda afterall so should do you just fine if you keep up with the maintenance of the bike.

Welcome to the 600RR club. Great bike to have and very reliable.
Just check the oil and other levels, chain adjustment as above depending on how hard you ride it and have it serviced with oil and filter every 4k miles.
