Default 600F2 manual CCT question

I'm going to be installing a manuall CCT soon and had a question. Is there anything I should do before I install it, like routine maintenance? Or does it matter? Also, there are lots of instructions for newer bikes, but can someone link to instructions for an F2, or PM me with instructions on how tight to make it, etc...? Thanks in advance

Replacing it is very straight forward. Are you using a stock automatic tensioner?

If so prime it in oil (submege it and pump it until all the air bubbles are out). Unbolt the old tensioner and remove the old gasket (note the way the gasket sits). Now put on the new gasket and bolt on the new tensioner.

No, it is not a stock replacement. It is a new manual unit. I'm not sure what to do with the long bolt. One nut moves, but the one on the end does not. I remember reading a post on here one time that said when to stop tightening the cct, but I can't find it now.
Also, I can't even figure out how this thing goes in! It ddin't come with any instructions, and Clymer really doesn't have any instructions on it either. It came with a new gasket, but the gasket is flat, so I assume I don't have to worry about its orientation. Any help? thanks
