Default 600 F2 Problems

Hey guys, I was just riding last night and im not sure what happened or when it started exactly but my bike started to make a sputtering sound and when I gave it gas there was about half as much power as there should be, it felt like at least one of the cylinders was not firing. I went to turn it on this morning and it seems to be back to normal, with a little sputtering but I think it is back to normal. Do i need new carbs or something? should I try some carb cleaner stuff?O and when I changed the spark plugs there was like oil on the side of the plug right behind the threads... does this mean something? Thanks in advance for any advice[sm=helpout.gif]

ok, you dont need NEW carbs you just need to clean them out. and put a new SET of plugs in and you should be good to go! And if the plug was wet when you took it out that usually means it was fouled thus running on 2 or 3 cyclenders.

He means around the crush washer, not at the electrode. What's probably happening with your spark plug is that a little bit of oil has dripped out of the valve cover gasket down into the spark plug hole and collected around the spark plug. It's not a huge deal, really, just something that comes from old age (the bike's, not yours, lol). As far as the carb problem, are you sureyou weren't running out of gas perhaps? What it sounds like is that when you twisted the throttle, the fuel mixture became too lean (kinda like when you first crank it up without choke in the morning).

Could be anything from Fuel, ignition, through to the charging rate of the battery I know it sounds silly
it happend to me, my battery once dried up completely, held a charge but wouldn't charge, sounds silly but in 30 yrs of fixing bikes
it had me baffled too but it caused the missfire [:@]
