Soo long story short my 2010 1000rr has had a catistophic engine failure at 9700miles into its life, went from absolutely fine to dead and seized up within half a mile, its been recovered to a very respectable garage and there more copper in the sump then in my penny jar, my mechanic has told me bottom end is roast and to get on the hunt for a replacement engine.

So here's my question, has anyone used a newer engine as a replacement, I've been made aware by a user on a different forum that any engine up to a 2018 is a direct fitment, if this is true it makes life alot easier to find a replacement but I'd like a few more people to confirm before I spend £2k+ on a engine that may not fit.

Any information would be greatly appreciated..
