I found an Adobe Acrobat file about the 2006 CBR1000RR Fire Blade. Click on the link you can see it too. When I converted the metric measurements for the reported bikes dry weight and engine power I get 388 LBS and 169.5 HP respectfully. If someone gets or hears anything different please let me know. The interesting thing is Honda has not officially released the weight of the US 06 1000RR. If like the release and improvements of the 05 CBR600RR Honda's official dry weight released by Honda will be conservative. If you didn't know Honda said the weight was one thing but when testers all weighed the bike it was something like 8 to 12 pounds lighter.

I looked up the 04-05 CBR1000RR specs on Sport Rider.com and they have it weighing 437 dry and 149.1 rear wheel HP. The spread on these numbers between the 04/05 specs and the 06 specs seems too wide to be realistic but it is fun to anticipate these being the actual improvements. I am really looking forward to the reviews. Can you imagine if the bike really looses that much weight and gets that much more muscle.

I personally like the new look of the plastics and the colors offered of the 06 1000RR. I already have the wife sold on us buying one next spring and I'm leaning toward the silver but I like the red a lot as well.
