Default 2000 f4 rattle???

I was riding my bike today and I have alway noticed a little rattle every once and a while but today when I got to my cousins house I was getting in it a little and it felt like the power wasn't all there.
so my question is how hard is it to replace the timing chain? maybe a how to section that someone could paste on here?
Also what do you think about it it?
I can be going and at a certain point the engine will start rattling and then it feels like the power is lost a little but I open it on up and it stops rattling. Also setting still in neutral I can rev it a little and it rattles. My bike has 9700 on it and has been taken really good care of. I just hope it aint about to sling a rod?

I think you are in need of a cam chain tensioner. It is a very common problem with these bikes. Easy fix. The power loss is probably all in you head but if your CCT is really bad it is possible. Good news is it's an easy fix just search CCT and you will get more info than you know what to do with.
