Default 1994 900rr Hesitates after 5000 rpm

I recently bought a '94 900rr not running. All I did was clean the jets and replace the shift spring and I was on the road. The problem I'm having is the bike stutters after 5000 RPM. I believe the main jets are 115's, not certain though. I also found an air line that is open (has no home) in the manual it is supposed to go to the 'air vent control valve' my bike does not have one. I think it may be a California thing, I don't think it's a Cali bike. Any help or thoughts will be appreciated.

It doesn't look like I'm going to get any help. I guess I'll rejet and see if that helps.
I didn't mention that it has a D&D slip on.
Thanks

Well any time if you have after market pipe or air filter the stock jets wont be sufficient enough. Sounds like your using stock jets with upgrades.

I'm not sure what air filter I'm using. It could be a K&N but I'm not sure, I'll have to pull it this weekend. If it's a K&N I'm thinking I will need to rejet. I'm wondering how much I should bump up the jets----118 or 120 I really don't know.
It'll be so much more fun to ride once this problem is solved.

Thanks for the help

I opened the airbox today and found I'm using a UNI air filter. I'm thinking this would require a rejet. Is Dynojet the best and I believe I would only need a stage 1 kit.

Any opinions?

Thanks

You only have a slip-on, not a full exhaust. You don't need to increase the jetting or the intake efficiency. Just put an original air filter in it and give that a try. What can it hurt ?
