Did you charge your new battery overnight after you bought it? Even new batteries sometimes need to be charged before you use them. Also, check for any holes in the exhaust pipes or the silencer. The pilot jets in the carbs may be slightly blocked causing the poor starting problem so check these again, but don't go poking any wire through the holes or you could enlarge them causing more problems! Try turning the idle screw clockwise a half turn to increase the idle speed as it may be set too low.

Are we talking about the CBR1000F here?

If so you may want to post your questions in this section :-

CBR 1000F "Hurricane" - CBR Forum - Enthusiast forums for Honda CBR Owners

As suggested check the battery is fully charged and good. The 1000F needs a good healthy charge to get it started, may also be an idea to try a jump start from another vehicle. Just be sure that the donor vehicle isn't running!

If the symptoms persist, check the main earth strap has a good clean connection. If that checks out OK try bump starting it. If it starts OK on a bump start, then it may be the starter damper/clutch, in which case read this :-

Replacing the alternator damper on your CBR1000F Honda motorcycle

But as I first said, if it is a CBR1000F, drop by the Hurricane section via the above link and post up there.

Cheers Steve.
