Default 1000rr redline

I have a 04 1000rr I just had a pc installed the bike has a jardine slip-on and along with k&n airfilter the bike redlines at 130 in 6th gear this is odd. I was told to adjust the clutch but it is hydroulic clutch. I had adjusted the shift rod to make room for my boots the rod fell off while riding but I put it back on could that be part of the problem and hinder the bikes performance any advice would be helpful,Thanks...keay

You the only owner of this bike?
Redline at 130 in 6th gear would require a 15F,53R sprocket setup (1 down in the front 12 up in the back), that or a SpeedoHealer that is programed way off.

Uh, somebody rebadged a Ninja 500 and sold it to you as a 1000RR What is the gearing on your bike? You either have major clutch slippage (nothing to do with the lever -- fibers in the basket), shot speedo or regeared big time. I'm thinking I've seen 130mph in 3rd gear.

I'm new to riding but my 929rr does 130 in fourh no problem. You must have major problems my buddy rode my bike and had no trouble doing 150 and he said it still had a little to go. Get that bike to somebody and get it checked!

I think I might have found the problem I had some of my fellow riders ride with me on there bike and we noticed that my speedo is way off at 60mph my bike reads 43mph and that is constant through all gears 26% off I see there is a recall for the speed sensor and it is for this exact problem. Since I bought the bike used I assumed the bike was never taken in for recall update so if that is the problem then I would be too happy.. Thanks for all the Info bros..keay

I think he'd notice if his bike were re-geared with a +12 in back, Thats insane. you would be doin wheelies all over the place with ease
