1000rr overheating
Hey guys. New member here, first post. I have an 05' red and black 1000rr. The only mods I've done are a CF Two Brothers slip on and the flapper mod. I've been riding bikes for 6 years and I love it. But enough about me and down to the real reason I'm posting. I've read some threads on this site and it sounds like there are some guys out there who know how to troubleshoot problems, and since I'm not one of them, I'm throwing myself at your mercy. My bike has 10,000 miles on it and has all of a sudden started to overheat when in traffic and especially when sitting in traffic. It gets up to 225 very quickly when sitting there and when the fans kick on, it doesn't really make a difference. It's never gotten that hot before unless I'm sitting in traffic for a long time and it's real hot out. I've done the most basic thing I can think of and checked the coolant level in both the res and the rad, and both levels are good. Any one else had this problem and what did you haveto do to resolve it? Any input would be appreciated since I know if I take it to the dealer I won't see it again for at least two weeks.
Thanks
Thanks

RE: 1000rr overheating
It's one of these things:
Faulty temperature gauge
Thermostat stuck
Coolant passages blocked
Water pump on its way out
It's also possible that your radiator is clogged, try doing a full coolant flush as it's probably the cheapest thing it could be, and if that doesn't fix it start working your way down that list.
Also, welcome to the forum.
