Default $ 1000 dollar problem

i think i messed up my cbr 2000/1999 600 F4........
i bought it 3 months ago from internet.
seller told me it is a 2000. i take off fairings to change oil, and see 1999 "market" labels on it......[:@]

that's not the problem though!!!!!!
i did not change the oil quick enough.......
one day i did not ride bike at all.
next day it wouldn't start.
battery worked...but dashboard lights was real dim... in my car i would say hey battery or altenator.

i buy new battery...
i just changed the oil.
still not running. bike turns on &makes cranking noises and ticks
but not firing over. what did i do?
what else do i gotta fix?
is it spark plugs.
altenator.
carburator?
my muffler smells funny too?????
im sorry for being a dumb ***...

that clicking noise sounds like the battery. did you charge the battery before you hooked it up ?

How much gas is in the tank? Are you ina cold climate? Water in the lines frozen? Do you smell gas when cranking over? I woulnd't worry about the smell of the muffler unless you've smelled other exact same model bikes w/same mufflers and compared it to yours...

Did you try to start it with the choke on?

my friends does the same thing..just put the choke on and adjust the idle a bit and it should fire..(sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes of tinkering before it stars) so be patient.

Well if the push start works that means you DO have an electrical problem because the bike would not start electrically, only manually
