Default -1/+2 sprocket kit...question

How much of a difference will I see if I get one smaller on the front and two more on the rear? Ive never rode a bike with an after market sprocket kit so I have nooo idea what it would do. I know its basically like a lightweight flywheel but what are the positives/negatives with it? Would you suggest getting one? Thanks

Go to the Gearing Commander website, load your bike's data from the drop-down menu and experiment with different gearing to see how it affects speed and rpm.

One down two up is a good combo for a 600 road bike - I've done exactly that on a cbr 600rr. You'll definately be able to feel the difference when accelerating. You should also be able to change the sprockets out without worrying about having tho get a longer or shorter chain. I use one down three up on my track bike

i've done it on a 954 and an f3.

the only real negatives i can think of would be a)your speedo is going to read a little faster than you're actually going b) the motor will spin faster when highway cruising.

I ended up getting a gold chain and -1 on the front and stock sizing on the back. They had a kit that was only $190 so I just got that. A lot cheaper than piecing together parts. Not sure how much a difference -1/+0 is going to be but I needed new sprockets and a new chain so we'll see how it rides.

it won't be much, but that combined with a 520 chain should be a little noticeable

You'll be able to tell the difference at low speed hard acceleration but at higher speed not so much. I did that then switched from stock to -1,0 then -1,+2 and that was a nice improvement. Your rpm at any given speed in 6th gear will be about 600 higher than oem but its not too bad.
