Default 07 1000rr weeping a lil oil

hey guys,

new to the site. Just bought a 07 1000rr with 3700miles. traded in my 04 kawi zrx1200.

My CBR is weeping a little bit of oil from the engine oil plug after running it. Is that normal? My old bike never leaked so i don't know if this is a common occurrence or if i should be callin the dealer. Like i said its just a weeping; no drops or anything.

Let me know what you guys think.

there should be a metal washer on that bolt. If it is weeping you have a messed up washer replace it on your next oil change. Also it is good practice to replace that washer ever time you do an oil change just to be on the safe side. Good Luck Hope i helped.

yup, although I replace my washer every 2 oil changes, so generally 1 washer a year.

When you pull it out check to see if its steel or aluminum. I bought a Lockhart-Phillips aluminum one and it broke the second time I went to torque it down. It's hollow aluminum so not very strong apparently. If you want a magnetic drain plug, take your stock one and go to an auto parts store. I'm gonna stick with steel plugs for now on, take a bit to drill it for track time, but whatever, it will last much longer.
