Default '05 600RR oil

This is a silly question but I need to know where the dipstick is on a 2005 CBR600RR. I got it used and didn't realize that I did not have an owners manual. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Its a real b!tch to get to the oil dipstick on this bike!!!

do the following:
- remove all fairings
- remove headlight fluid resevoir
- remove muffler bearings (note: it will be necessary to repack these when you re-install them
- remove oil dipstick cover
- remove oil dipstick

when using the oil dipstick, its best to have the bike on its sidestand with the suspension fully compress on both front and rear.

good luck!

of course, I'm joking with my previous post.

Oil level is done through the oil level window on the lower right side of the engine. Make sure the bike is upright and oil is warm. The oil level should be between the high and low mark.

Edit - There is a pic of the oil level window here:

So Im trying to check the oil on my 06CBR600RR. I have followed your instructions and removed all the farirings. (Was taking the tail fairing off really necessary?), removed the headlight fluid resovoir, dissasembled the muffler and removed the muffler bearings. This is where Im having trouble. When I took the mufler bearings out, the little ***** fell out and rolled all over the garage. I think I found them all and put them back in but I am wondering if the muffler will still work right if one or two of the little ***** is missing?

Once you lose the ***** you can't ride the bike again, it's considered a salvage title. You can sell it to me for $2500.00

If it's cool, I'd like to ask a related question. I know NOTHING about maintaining bikes. Cars I'm good with, bikes...not so much. How do I change the oil and filter on a 2003 600RR?
