02 Honda CBR F4i won't start...help!
When I hit the start button, it sounds like it is going to start but just stutters and never starts. The lights also go dim when I am pushing the button. I can hear gas inside the tank when I move the bike from side to side. i also noticed the oil light blinks and the when the power is trned on. I also noticed the clock has been reset. Any ideas???? Could it be a bad starter? I had the starter replaced a year and a half ago because it went bad, but this is different.
I left my bike for around 5 days. It worked before I left and was left in the garage with average temperature. I put a charger on the battery so I know it is fully charged.

I've been a working mechanic for 15 years and have jumped my bike from a car/truck more than once, or i wouldn't have suggested it. The only diff between bike and car is the charging system has a much higher amp rating than a bike cuz of minimal draw to run headlights n w/not. Its 12 volts tho, and unless you leave it hooked to the car for a WAY long time, it won't hurt a thing. What problems does it cause, if you don't mind me asking ???

Prob a BAD battery. Won't take a full charge. Try n jump-start it off you car. If that works, you know its battery.

this is exactly what my boss just told me. it does make since considering my battery went dead several months back, but that was because i left the key in the ignition. i am going to try and jump start it with my car. any other suggestions from anyone???
thanks!!

If your battery went dead a few months back, and you're still using the same battery, no wonder it's not holding a charge sufficiently. Just spend the $50 and get a new battery...will save your a lot of hassle in the end. Getting your bike started and riding it somewhere might be nice, but do you want to have to wonder if it'll start again when you're ready to leave? Take care of your bike and it will take care of you. Get a new battery...

Some times even a "good" battery can be thrashed by draining it too far. Sounds like a new batter is in order. Despite what the book says, you can jump your bike from a car, just don't start the car. I'm all about following the mans directions, but don't let that over ride a lil common sense. The charging systems are diff, but that won't matter if the car/truck isn't running.
