Hi I'm new to the site and today I had a problem with my bike. Its an 02 954rr with almost 10,000 miles on it. First problem i've ever had with it so ive been lucky. I was pulling up to a stop sign with the bike in first gear and the clutch out and it just died. No sputtering or nothing just like if you would hit the kill switch. So while I was rolling I just hit the started and it fired back up no problem. Later on tonite I took a girl on a ride and it did it twice more while on the ride. (kinda embarrassing) This time I was holding the clutch in cause I was almost to the red light and It just killed. The third time I was accelerating and it died. I was thinking maybe loose wires on the kill switch but I really don't know alot. Please help!! Thanks

 

Thats a tough one heh. I would start with the fuses, make sure they are all seated and tight. Check your wiring for ignition, fuel pump. Also check your kickstand switch, may have caught a rock or something and exposed a wire or damaged the switch. Did the lights on the bike go off also, or just died out?

 

No the lights and everything stayed on. It was just like you hit the kill switch or the kickstand thing so I'll start with that and let you know what I find. Thanks

 

Ok I just looked it over and the kill switch wires looked good as well as the kickstand switch wires. My idle was low so I did turn that up to about 1200 rpm it was at about 1000. I also went and got a can of seafoam and put that in since I have never done injector cleaner. So far so good!!
