Sell Whole or Part out?
2002 F4i. I'm finally ready to reclaim some garage space. Bike doesn't get ridden much, too many other toys and...family. I've been on this forum a long time (but haven't been active) and someone inquired about the bike. I'm not sure where to set the price and could use some advice.
KBB set its value at $3,390
34,000 miles well maintained
Extras: Ohlins Shock, Showa/Racetech custom revalved forks, PC3r
I'm thinking the shock (with remote preload adjuster) is still worth several hundred $$ and folks are looking for good straight forks on eBay, etc.
Bike is all black and nice and shiny. Aftermarket excellent condition bodywork.

Seems a shame to part out a perfectly good bike. How many auctions do you want to have to create, photograph, answer questions and deal with until it's all gone? Put it on ebay, set a reserve for the minimum you'll take and see what happens. One and done.
Might be easier to sell that way as most folk will not pay much extra for upgraded components, they will just compare price with 'stock' CBR's.
You could then sell on the trick parts to someone who appreciates what they are and are prepared to pay for them.

I listed the bike on Facebook Marketplace and in about 2 days a guy came by and said he wanted to put it in his business as a display piece and occasionally ride it. This was the buyer I was looking for. He offered close enough to asking and volunteered to leave a $1,000 deposit. He came back the next day and paid the balance, and a few hours later to pick it up. It's a local business, so I can "visit" the bike nearly anytime I want.
WIN-WIN!
