Question how much better is the ride with a steering stabilizer? how much do they run?

What helmet did you have on?
Thanks and I wish you luck rebuilding your bike...
I was wearing my brand new Arai RX-7.- http://www.superbikes.ro/images/wraith%20silver.jpg

And an Alpinestars spinner jacket - http://www.pacificyamahabmw.com/imag...therjacket.jpg

These are just generic photos so you can see what i had on.

The helmet seemed to do it's job, even though i got a concussion. However, one thing I was not happy about is the face shield broke off despite it having a "revolutionary locking mechanism". lol.

The jacket worked wonders. It is a little scraped up but I'll continue to wear it in the future. I 100% recommend Alpinestars jackets because of this.

My buddy also had a wreck that involved much more pavement and the same jacket saved his skin.

Well, the reason I said that is because if I did have a steering stabilizer I would have never gotten the death wobbles and probably not have wrecked.

That said, I'm not really sure that a steering stabilizer improves the "ride". It's more of a safety mechanism to keep your front wheel straight and absorb significant shocks to the front wheel.

I think they start at around $300 or so.

The F4i shouldn't need one for the street. I'm going to go on a limb to say that you weight more than 145 and have stock suspension. Why?

When you came down the suspension was loading/unloading and adding to your loss of control.

So you don't believe a stabilizer would have helped me at all?

Yes, as would many other things. I don't believe however that F4i owners should rush out and buy one on the off-chance that your situation will be presented to them. Proper rider response would have also saved the accident, which is why I am a firm advocate for continued rider education and training.

Looks like a welder up in front of the truck, you sure he isn't welding on the fuel tank?

Isn't the fuel tank behind the rear axle?
