Would you do this mod?
Bike specs in sig.
My friend just installed an Akro full GP style Ti system to his new 2006 R6. He has the old exhaust sitting in his garage. I was wondering about taking that end pipe with the GP style can, and swapping that for my Yoshi can and mid-pipe. There are anchor points underneath my bike to secure it. I would have a GP style exhaust, using stock headers that would drop several pounds and sit really low. Should look like it does on the stock R6.
However, there is no baffle in that pipe!
Now in GA, there is no law about sound levels or dB in regards to exhaust, and we do not have to get our bikes inspected each year as you would with a car or truck. I might have to have a new map made for it, but if you were in my situation and did not have to worry about getting in trouble with the Law for basically running straight pipes, would you do it?
It would have to sound ungodly at 14,000rpm!

RE: Would you do this mod?
I love the look of the high mount, but IMHO it has some drawbacks...
First, it puts more weight up top and raises the center of balance.
Second, it puts more length on the pipe and an extra bend.
Third, I can just see myself constantly burning my leg due to the longer midpip snaking up the side of the bike.

You would definitely have to get it tuned since it's just a straight pipe
And it's gonna sound EXTREMELY loud & might even sound like crap
If you got the time & resources....try it out. I don't think it'd be a good mod for a daily rider (noise).....but it would probably look cool.
