Default Whistler Cruisader Install on F4i

Here'sthe completed install of a Whistler Cruisader on my '05 F4i. It was a bitch getting it in, but well worth it! I don't think any LEO would even notice it. Suprisingly, the blue LED at the top of the dash is quite visible, and the "heads up display" works quite well. If anyone is trying to install one, PM me and I can save you a lot of time and frustration.

It's a radar detector that's designed to be permanently installed on bikes. It's pretty well hidden so you don't have to worry about it getting stolen, you don't have to remove it everytime you stop for a coffee, and it's weatherproof.

It has a heads up display which is that little red light you see in my helmet. It shines in your peripheral field of view warning you that there is radar ahead.

It's a pretty neat install and I hope it will save me many tickets!

No offense but that red light is not in you perepheril line of sight. Plus having a red light go off all of a sudden would be crazy at night especially if it was really dark around. Good luck though if it works.

I have one, don't use the HUD.

The dash unit also shows ambient temperature and voltage which is worth the price. By the way, the detector works nicely, too.

Actually the red light is in the peripheral vision. It just doesn't show in the picture. It also can be dimmed at night. I don't really ride much at night, and I certainly don't speed when I do so I won't even turn the helmet light on. You're right that the dash light is very good and in most situations is probably enough. I'm glad to hear that the detector actually works well, cause I haven't had good experience with Whistlers in the past! And you're right - the temp and battery voltage alone are worth the price.
