I did something like this to my enduro, I didn't torque everything and it did come loose. Either try and find a 1/4" in/lb wrench that you can borrow or else just torque them all in a criss-cross pattern by hand till they all feel even. Either way, be sure to go back and check the bolts periodically so that they don’t back out and you loose oil like I did. Some threadloc blue would probably solve your problems from the start if you do it by hand. Just don’t go overkill with tightening them.

i'm replacing my stator cover. in a previous post everyone mentioned to torque the stator back to spec. the problem is my torque wrench only goes to 20lb which probably won't fly lol. i'm thinking I"ll have to get a torque wrench in inch/pounds rather than foot/pounds and convert it.

it looks like a lot of people here have replaced the stator cover, so i'm wondering what type of wrenches are you using and where can i get one for myself. thanks
Get the inch-lb one from sears. There's a conversion chart included. You can get about 20 ft. lbs out of that one, and down to just a few inch-lbs. Dialing in 9lbs should be no problem.

There are 12 inches in a foot, so 9 ft/lbs = 72in/lbs.

1 ft-lb = 12 in-lbs

Just tighten it down like you mean it! Unless you're doing something internal, i really don't think you'll have a problem...

you sure about that? i'm pretty sure 9lb/ft would be 108in/ft.

9 * 12 = 108inches
Yeah, take the ft/lbs and divide by 0.0833. 9/.0833 = 108.04in/lb. To reverse the conversion, take in/lbs and multiply by 0.0833. 72in/lbs is 6ft/lbs.

I should probably get an inch-pounds torque wrench. Anything less than 15lbs and I just hand-tighten it. [&:]

LOL!

Yeah, it's 108! Dunno how I came out with 72. Bad math.
