they came from somewhere on the brake light and i'm completely lost on where it goes.

 

they're not a functioning component of the bike itself. i think they were hooks inside the storage compartment? i forget.
i only had 1 that i recall on my 06 that i took off from the tail section i had just cut off to install the fender eliminator.

 

they go on the tailight bolts

 

I should have explained better. I know they came off the tail light bolts but I'm not sure how they are positioned.

dude those are the vetser valve holders...

 

I wouldn't say trash; they help hold the tail light wiring away from the trunk, keeping them bunched up nicely. That's enough function to make them worth it to me.
