So can any one tell me if the new oem ones have been redisgned or is the manual one still the way to go

The part number has changed several times, I assume each change was a revision. It now ends in J24 where the original was J20, I just ordered a new one from here Honda of Hollywood: BMW Motorcycles For Sale in LA, CA. Cycles, Scooters, ATVs For Sale in Hollywood by Kawasaki, Suzuki & More!.
