Default What is it worth?

So I may be selling my F4i. I want to upgrade and get a 1000. But Im not sure of what kind of price tag I should put on it. I don't have a pic I can show you all but I'll try to give you a good description of the bike. I have a 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i as of right now it has like 12,188 miles still runs very well. It has a custom paint job red with yellow orange flames on it, custom exhaust. Carbon fiber gas tank lid, and around the gages. The tires are pretty much brand new. So with that idea what would you suggest?

Normally right around the KBB value... custom paint will probably lower it unless someone really likes it. Also whenever I see custom paint I assume the bike has been crashed at some point.

From what I know of the bike has never been laid down. It rides and looks normal. I am friends with the guy who actually had it painted. He is just into the custom kind of stuffhe gets cars and does it to them all the time.

WRONG!

Don't listen to that guy, custom paint absolutely does no lower the value, it will raise it if anything.

If I took it to a dealership and try to trade it in it would probably lower the value. But for a private party sale I figure it should help me out some. The guy I got it from told me the paint job was about 2000 and the exhaust was around 1500.

It's hard to say without pictures of the exhaust/Paint. The first thing I think when I see a paint job is it's been wrecked/dropped or something. It's just what people will always think.

RIGHT!!!! Custom paint does lower the value. I don't know about the custom exhaust I would have to see it.
