RE: What upgrades to do with $3600?
OK ben, here is the answer.
Don't mod your bike. Fix the broken parts of course. But don't **** it away. A bike is a depreciating assett. Never throw good money on top of bad. Fix the bike to where it is worth its condition and have fun with it.
Take a $1000 and go get a couple of strippers and do a weekend somewhere. Take pictures, lots of pictures. When you are old and grey, you will have pictures and memories.
Put $1500 into a stock fund that specializes in China.
But only spend money on the bike to make it right, not better.
invest it

Buy a small cruiser or standard for when you want to do a different style of riding.

look at my bike, look at all the mods all the paint all the money spent on it...
it's not worth the mods let alone the vaule of the bike now..
now if you dont care and if you donated all 3600 to a charity and wouldnt care if it was all gone, "because it will be if you put it into your bike" then go ahead get a sick paint job.
but you wont get 1/4th of it back in value

i would spend some and save/invest some. i mean for $1,000 you can get all kinds of cool stuff for your bike. depending on what you have already you can get a nice slip on, undertail and various other things. i dont think i could even justify somehow spending $3,600 bucks on a used bike unless it was custom paint included.
