What RPM's you guys pulling at 80mph in 6th
First of all...while commuting(those that do) 80 seems to be the speed to keep moving with traffic in my parts....taching about 5.5-6 grand in 6th gear doing 80...this sound about right?
I'm still fairly new to sport bikes so a lot of questions may sound sorta naive..please bear with me [8D]

most of the people are tolerant on this forum, so ask away.
6krpm is roughly 80mph in 6th. some people will have higher or lower rpms depending on if they did alteration to their sprocket set up.
high gear and low rmps = good gas milage, but you are not well heard when you ride at lower mid range rmps.

I'm at roughly 7500 @ 80 mph. I know at 85 it's at exactly 8000. But I also have a speedohealer, so my 80 is slightly faster than 80 on a bike without speedohealer. I'm also geared down 1 tooth in the front (I was up 3 in the back, but same ratio anyways), so my RPM's are a little higher cuz of that

sounds close, why do you ask?
despite the fairings sportbikes still have horrible aerodynamics and because most bikes, especially 600s, have significantly less power in the RPMs so the bike has to rev a bit more than most would think in 6th gear to keep that speed.

80MPH indicated = 72MPH actual with stock sprockets
that's true with me anyway. i've plugged a GPS into the dash and memorized all my speeds.
my bike is exactly 10% off. i'm sure everyone elses is too.
i hate speedo error more than anything and i'm too lazy to buy a speedohealer.
i know that in 4th gear, my RPM's match my speed pretty close.
40MPH = 4000 RPM
50MPH = 5000RPM
etc etc

In basic english, vehicles including our bikes come from the factory with a spedometer that is off. It says you are going faster than you really are. A spedohealer will fix this problem and give you your more accurate speed.http://www.speedohealer.com/ When I'm doing 75mph my tach is at about 6600rpm maybe because I'm 230lbs?
