Fram must've changed their filter....I read that article and purposely went to look at one and whaddya know....no cardboard ring! They use rubber now.

Did you cut t5he filter open? That is where you have to look, the valve is rubber, but the retainer is cardboard.

Repsol is easy to confuse their natural/ synthetic oil

Autozone 10w-40 dino with a bosch 3300 (or whatever is on sale)

i use honda gn4 10-40 non-synthetic and any filter will do, change every 5k miles
