Default What kind of Gas???

What kind of gas do you put in your F4I. Will it hurt if I put the lowest grade we have at our gas stations around here (87 or 88). In my owners manual is says 86 or higher. Is it worth it to put in the expensive stuff. I don't think it is but I just wanted the opinion of everybody else. Are there any benefits if you put the higher grade in or is it just a waste of money???. Thanks for all your input.

I use the cheap stuff. There are a lot of posts about this subject on this forum and a few of them even explain what octane actually is. I found it very informative and with the information that I collected I choose to put in the lower grade gasoline. Just do a search for octane or gas and I'm sure you'll find a lot of stuff here, there are a lot of knowledgeable people.

well...if you understand the whole octane and combustion and engine thing...then you'll use the lowest octane possible without predetonation.

If you have your manual it says inside.

When I bought my gixxa 750 new the sticker on the tank said 93 octane I believe all of them are the same.

JZHALES I'm not cheap bro, I just wondered if it makes a difference. Why would I spend more money in putting the higher grade in the bike if it doesnt do anything.

yea in my manual it says 86 or higher but I just wanted to know if the higher octane helps the bike run any smoother or if you notice a difference.

I use 93, but if you factor in one dollar to a dollar twenty more every time you fill up, times how many tanks you burn in a season, it adds up to be quite a bit.
