91...never had access to 93

my buddy tried 110 on his 05 R6...said it made it faster.....my other buddy tried it on his 05 buell 9xr....it completely ruined his bikes computer system...until he ran outta gas and put regular gas in.

87 octane or lower (if you can find it!).
The higher octane burns slower than lower octane fuel sousing Premuim (92 orhigher) gas might actually slow you down!

It would be cool to see a bike dynoed twice, once with 87 and once with 93octane just to see what the difference would be...the same bike with no other mods of course. I run 93 in mine but I think next time I fill up I'll try 87

OK well it is true that 91+ will be harder to ignite, but on the other hand it burns hotter. And in most cases hotter = cleaner. If your bike can handle 91+ I would recommend using it. Also the reason why some of you have never seen 93+ is prob. because you are at higher elevations. For example, I live in Colorado and you can use a 91 oct. and get the same performance as a 93 oct. would at sea level.

ChanCBR

Why does higher octane gas "burn hotter"?

Cause that's what it is made for. The Octane is a rating of ---for a lack of better words, "resistance to burning". There are several good posts about this.......GET THIS....Even In This Thread.

Good topic though. Can be argued ad-nauseum. You'll find it on every message board for anything that burns gasoline.
