so i took my bike to the track today n i noticed that when im at high revs...maybe 10-12k rpm i tend to hear a weird rattling noise. I have no idea what it can be. I know it cant be my cctl for a couple reasons. 1. the sound is from the other side of the bike. 2 i have an ape cctl and it has never caused a problem for me for the many many months that i have had it. Any ideas?

could it be the chain? i have no idea. I will double chk it but the sound goes away after you pass that certain rpm. It just distinct at around 10-12

do u have an exhaust leak? those can cause weird noises

 

i will double check that...but do exhaust leaks make rattling sounds though? Sorry for all the questions ive never run into a problem like this n im just scared to push my bike to the limit again for a while

 

was it the sound of you passing a gsxr? those bikes tend to rattle apart :P

 

x2 that. Everyone of those bikes ive heard sounds like its about to explode.

 

I had a slight tapping/rattle on the non-cct (left) side of my F2.... turned out to be a bad valve spring that was slapping a bit at different revs. (now I am in the middle of an engine swap on that old cbr6)
