I let it hit 97, just when the display shows an actual temp, and then I ride it, warming it up slowly over the course of a mile or so, then take off. Much like any other engine/vehicle. How long do you let your car warm up before taking off? Same situation.

Yeah, I let mine register or hit 100, then I cruise on down the road. I don't ever gun it until the engine and tires are warmed up. I wouldn't let it warm up for too long, either.

I get up to about 120 and then slowly let her get to 170, then I give it more. It usually takes about 2 blocks to get the extra 50deg. It's been so long, I don't know what's normal temp anymore......[&o] But I do know that cruise on a cold day she can get down to 178deg.

I ride mine right away but keep the revs low (3000-) until it gets close to running temp

I don't think cruising at low RPM is any different then sitting still at the same RPM

thumb the starter, then dont touch it until it registers, and idles down. usually jump on and go once it is above 100.
usually thats the exact same amount of time it takes me to put my jacket, helmet, and gloves

I believe in the manual to my gsxr 750 it said about 140 I believe. If you have a manual or know some one who does have them take a look its defiantely in there.
