Default Vortex Swingarm Info

So bear with me i'm still new to all this. The bike I got (02 CBR 600 F4i) came with a Vorex swingarm. I have 2 questions on this....

1. What are the benefits (if any) to having it?

2. Is there anyway to put spools on it or do I need to get a swingarm stand?

I did a little bit of googling and found some people had brackets welded to the swingarm to put spools on but that seems a little out of control. And I dont want to drill & tap it. Again if these are dumb questions, sorry. I'm still learning a lot about this bike.

For clarification, spools (or spool mounts) are what is welded to your swingarm to which you use a swingarm stand.

Do you have pictures of said swingarm?

Thanks for the clarification. I do not have anything welded to my swingarm. Here are pics of both sides and also what I purchased thinking they went somewhere lol.

Hate to break it to you but vortex does not make swing arms. What you have is a factory OEM Honda arm with a vortex sticker on it. As far as spools go, you will have to have something welded on the arm for the spools to screw in to.

Thanks for the info, was wondering why I couldn't find anything on it on the Vortex site. So the stock swingarm doesn't come with spool mounts? Is it worth it to have them welded on or just pick up one of the stands that has pads to support the swingarm?

I have been using the stands with pads for several years with Jo problem. The spools would be easier to get up on stand

Driven may make chain adjusters with sliders that can double for spools.

Gilles tooling also makes chain adjusters that you can get stand attachments for as well

No, not really. While it would be more convenient, its not really necessary...especially if you're not going to be doing significant tracking. You'd be better served getting yourself a good solid rear stand w/ pads that lift from under the swingarm. I use a PitBull that doubles as standard & spooled lift b/c I have more than one bike...Pit Bull Motorcycle Stands & Accessories: SS Rear Stand (Standard/Spooled).

If you decide that you can't live w/o spools, you can have spool mounts welded up or have revnuts installed. PitBull used to have such kits but you'd have to check w/ them to verify if they still do. I'd recommend having a good race shop install either.
