A picture would help, but what you are saying does not sound right.

Swap the bases... There are two different base sizes... The smaller one goes on the left....

I just changed my oil and noticed I have a gap too. The gap gets a little larger especially underneath (towards the ground). I am thinking that is the way it is. My bad!!!!

but is your gap like 1cm?

i tried to swap the bases but the right side base is larger and the left hole is too small. i am using the right bolts.

the right side hole has a washer nut lock or something like that, which controls clearance between the engine and the frame and thats what keeping my right base from going all the way in..

so how big is your gap? mine is realy noticeable, about .75-1cm

I just got my Vortex sliders, but haven't installed them yet. I'm comparing the two base mounting bolts, and it seems that the longer one (right side) has a longer unthreaded section, about a cm in length, so I'll probably see that same gap when I put them on. There must be a good reason they designed it like this. Maybe the engine sticks out farther from the frame on the right side (???).
