a question if you don't mind sir, did you take the head off while the engine was still in the bike?
also brake fluid works great on cleaning those valves and piston's free of carbon,
and you may want to redo your rings while you're there, and hone the cylinder.
however it's understandable if you don't want to do that until you find out what the problem is.

yeah. the engine is still in the bike.
well if my valves are in order, then there's only one other thing i can think of for why my bike doesn't fire up. When I double checked the valve specs, after adjusting them, I did not install the tensioner. So when i turned the pistons, the chain slipped a few times. Perhaps that may have damaged a sensor or something. I'll have to open up the clutch housing thingy to see.

bike still does not start. noticed a new symptom: hot air shooting through the throttle body.
with the exception of the airbox and exhaust headers, everything in the bike is put together. i start the bike. it cranks. I hear air shooting out. I put my hand over the throttle body, and air is coming from there...hot air. The throttle is closed.
i suspect the valves have not been adjusted correctly...thus air pressure is coming out of the intake valve when it should not be. but I dont know where i am going wrong in my adjustments.
am I not putting the cam chain on right or something? All the valves are within .03mm of target value (intake .20mm, exhaust .28mm). When piston #1 is TDC the cams show: (__IN) (EX__)
