16 grand, i doubt they'll need to be adjusted. F4's hold thier valve tolerances very well[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I've got 18 and change. I haven't the slightest clue about checking/ adjusting valves. I have a Haynes. Is this something better left to more competent hands?

my friend didn't check his valve clearance until 33000 on his 98' superhawk and the valves were still well within spec.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I just checked mine on my 02 with a ton of miles and lots of abuse. They had never been adjusted so I was expecting to have to adjust them but they were still within spec..

About how many miles do you have?

Anyone know how the bike runs when it's out of spec?

I'm just trying to t.shooting a problem w/o turning any bolts. Bud's can pull 1st/2nd gear power wheelies, I can't. Same gearing on both (I think).

OK, if that is the only reason you think there is something wrong with your bike, you may want to revamp your thought process.

First, have any of them tried it on your bike? Technique is 99% of wheelies.

I don't know of many that "power wheelie" a stock geared F4i in 2nd without bouncing or clutching.

If you think you are down on power, get it to a dyno.

Also, there are WIDE factory variances. Two F4i's produced on the same day could have 4-5 Hp difference.

Your sig says you are running a PCIIIr. What fuel and ignition maps are you running? Did you get them dyno tuned? You may be running rich or lean, this can account for a power loss. You really can't compare your bike to someone on something as vauge as the ability to wheelie.

You're right, but I suspected that I was down on power in the mid range. We've done some racing and he can pull on me in the mid-corners (skillz), but I can walk him down on the straights. He says that he gets it to 8k and hits it. I do the same and bog down just a bit.

Keep in mind, I don't want to wheelie. I just want to know that my mid is OK and not a problem in my head.

I have a map sent to me by Muzzys.
