Default Ugh... coolant tastes nasty!

Dunno what this bullcrap is about animals thinking it taste sweet. Chit is worse than drinking MD 20/20.

Flushed the coolant but overfilled the rad. Rather than make another mess (pulled the wrong hose off the water pump), I grabbed a plastic tube and siphoned the excess out. Bike idles to 223-224, fan kicks in and stays on till it drops to 219 which only takes about 30 sec - 1 min at idle.

Never had any problems with my fan. There's a lower temp fan switch mod on the forum somewhere that'll make it come on earlier. But I've never had a need. Flushing out the old coolant should be sufficient. And when commuting to work, 10 min -12 min of the 15 min ride is all highway

i never had a problem with the fan, 220 is just way too much in my opinion. next time you ride, rip it open in first geat at like 40mph and feel how it takes off, then do the same thing at like 210 or 220 and feel it.

That's true for any vehicle - we all know the cooler they run, the better they run.

I've never had a problem with my fan kicking on late. It comes on around 228ish.

Kuro,
are you saying you got anti freeze in your gob?
You better be damned sure you flushed your mouth out better than you did your rad. That stuff is very poisonous.
I hope I misunderstood you!

I actually didn't know the radiator could be over filled. How do you know when it is at the level it is supposed to be?

I always thought you fill the radiator until you see the coolant.

This could be why I am running a few degrees higher than normal. I probably over filled my radiator when I did my flush a couple weeks ago to change my oil cooler.

Thanks.

Aye got just a bit, enough for a taste

No worries. Had plenty of beer on hand to wash it away Now I've tasted gas, oil, brake fluid and coolant. What's left?

Whats left? The worst one judging by smell, thats a car/trucks very old used differential oil. Its like a skunk crapped in it after eating onions and garlic for a month strait.
