Default Turning Lock to Lock

I noticed that when I turn my bars left full lock that I get some interference with the hard parts (where the nuts connect) of the throttle cable. It seems to touch the fairing stay. I never noticed it before. Is the clearance that tight or did something become misaligned (fairing stay??) from my Trackday getoff? I've removed the front fairing to see it better and can't see anything wrong, except the interference. It barely touches the steering stop, but barely.

I have a little under 1/4" at full left lock between the throttle cable and the fairing stay.

If it's not actually hitting I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, it's touching. Can't figure out why. Maybe I'll remove the clip-on and check that it's OK. Then remove the fairing stay and check that too. Wish I had a replacement to compare.

you may have just tweaked the lower fairing stay.

If so you can always bend it back. the lower will bend easier than the upper. The lower is sheet metal. The upper is cast. If you put too much pressure on the upper it will crack.

Considered that, seeing how it will twist so easily. Would you recommend removing it to try and straighten it out? Or just trying to bend it while mounted? (I know what you're going to say, just hoping you'd say something else)

You can try bending it after you remove just the front fairing (leaving the stays). Just hold onto the upper as close to the lower stay as possible. If it's really out of whack you may be able to insert a pry bar through the triangular hole in the lower stay and use that for leverage.

If you have to do any bending on the upper stay it's probably best to heat it first.

Be careful. I have a crack in the middle of mine (dosen't hurt anything) and replacements are stupid expensive. They are usually the second thing busted in a crash so there aren't a lot of used "straight" upper stays running around.

Yeah, I told my buddy that his upper stay was jacked and now look at me. Why do Hondas always jack up the stay????? Maybe they should call it something other than a "stay". I'll give that a shot in a couple of days (maybe tonight?) I got the fairing off already, and all the plastics are in need of repair.

I just need to get her painted and lookin' pretty again, or make it a track *****.

I can't find the tweak. I haven't removed anything except the fairing. The lower seems OK, and sturdy. Is it just 1 bolt holding the upper and lower?

Should be 3. IIRC

They should be behind the Instrument Cluster.

Here's photos. Not much help, but I'm stumped.
