Default True or False??

alright so i was talking to one of my friend which has an f4i. just talking and randomly we started talking bout extended swingarm. he told me if you get a extended swingarm you get more torque. i asked him why and he said because of the longer chain. and i said thats not possible unless you change the gear ratio. what do you think the truth is

if anything you lose the geometry of the bike thus screwing up lean angles and handling.

Due to an increase in unsprung weight, you would see a slight (possibly negligible) loss in rear wheel power. However, you're able to put more power to the ground. A longer swing arm means the center of gravity is further forward from the rear wheel than a stock bike, thus is take more to lift the front. The limiting factor for acceleration on sport bikes is largely its ability to keep the front wheel down.

your friend is wrong

the length of chain has no bearing on the amount of torque your bike has, it just means you won't wheelie as easily and can accelerate harder in the first few gears

if you dynoed a bike before and after an extended swingarm installation with the same sprockets on it you'd get the same results

False.

Like others have said, you'll just be able to launch the bike quicker.

Torque has to do with the moment about the axis of rotation, therefore the only thing that would differ the torque would be different size sprockets, and different size tires.
