Tires & Installation
Hey guys. Just wondering what I can expect to pay for good tires online and how much it might cost me to have them installed. I've been reading the Pilots are good tires. Where can I get the best price online for them?
Also, I'm not even sure if I need new tires. The treads are worn, but there is still a little depth to the tread in the center of the rear tire (maybe 3 mm?). Do you think it needs to be replaced? Thanks!

I bought a set of Dunlop Q's online for $225 shipped. Check www.tireexpress.com they seem to have the best prices, at least what I could find, and very fast shipping too. Seems like you're due for a new set, or close to it. Check your current tires for cupping too - rub your hand on the tires one way and it should feel smooth, rub your hand along the tires the opposite way and it might feel kind of sharp at the treads.
Also, watch out if you buy tires online. Some dealers are little bitches about putting on tires that you didn't buy from them.

www.ronayers.com only $10 for shipping and the best prices that I have found. I just ordered a pilot power for the rear on my F4i and it was $141 shipped. I'll let you know how long it takes to get here but being a holiday today it probably won't be here until thursday or friday. I know I should do both tires, but my funding won't allow it right now, but I will get another one for the front in the next few weeks. I went to a local dealer and they said $25-$30 to mount and balance if I take the wheel off and bring it down, otherwise its $55 each wheel, so it would be $110 if I get both tires done if I take the bike down to them, but they do a QC check on everything so I guess its up to you if its worth it or not. I'm getting my own changer this winter so I don't have to bend over for the dealer anymore LOL.
